40 Years of OR
Celebrating their milestone anniversary in 2024, Chartered Accountants Ormerod Rutter look back over 40 years of success.
On Friday 7th June, the team got together to celebrate 40 years of OR at Ragley Hall. The night consisted of some fantastic food, amazing music, a spectacular drone show, and a firework or two to end the night!
The night was a fantastic opportunity for the whole team to celebrate and reflect upon how building strong relationships is what has set us apart over the past 40 years.

Peter Ormerod qualified as an accountant in 1981. His desire to offer a service different to the corporate rigidity he had experienced in other firms led to him establishing his own Chartered Accountancy practice in 1984.
In 1987, Peter was re-introduced to childhood friend, Garry Rutter, by a mutual friend. Peter and Garry had both grown up in Bromsgrove and had known each other since primary school. The pair were part of a close mutual friendship group and enjoyed playing football together.
Garry had qualified as a chartered accountant in 1982 and his work had taken him overseas. He had recently moved back to the UK. Both keen to reconnect with an old friend, Peter and Garry met to discuss working together over a pint or two.
In 1987, Garry started to work with Peter and the pair continued to expand their client base and grow their business.
40 Years On… Ormerod Rutter Chartered Accountants has 10 partners and employs over 230 people. It has offices in Droitwich, Bromsgrove, and Birmingham. Our core belief in the importance of building a strong relationship with our clients has endured through four decades in business and it is this that sets us apart.
At Ormerod Rutter, we have consistently adapted over the years to the changing needs of our clients and the financial landscape, staying at the forefront of industry trends and technological advancements to offer the best possible service.
1984
Peter Ormerod set up his business, Peter Ormerod Chartered Accountants.
1987
Peter’s childhood friend, Garry Rutter, joined the business. Garry went on to become a partner in 1990, and the business became Ormerod Rutter Chartered Accountants in 1993.
1994
Our head office, The Oakley, opened its doors. Peter and Garry had the office built from the ground up.
2001
The very first OR website launched. Technology was advancing fast in the early 2000s, and we launched our very first website with information about our services and contact details.
2004
The company was growing. In 20 years, the team had gone from one up to 50 people.
2006
We opened our Roman Way offices. These five office buildings in Droitwich are where the majority of our production departments are based.
2013
Our continued growth meant that we reached 100 employees in 2013, doubling our numbers in just 9 years.
2015
We were proud to win the Apprenticeship Employer of the year award following the launch of our apprenticeship scheme in 2012.
2020
Covid hit the world in March 2020. We had to adapt quickly to continue supporting our clients through unprecedented times.
2024
We are celebrating 40 years of OR in 2024. As a team of over 220, we’re proud of four decades of excellence in our field.
